Central Arkansas Social Security Impairments Attorneys
The Social Security Administration has created a massive list of impairments. When determining whether to accept or deny a disability claim, this list is consulted. It is broken down into two major categories: adult listings and childhood listings.
Adult Impairment Listings
The adult listings are broken down into 14 categories, starting with musculoskeletal system impairments such as spine injuries and burns, or other soft tissue injuries. It also includes cardiovascular system impairments, such as ischemic heart disease. Mental disorders, such as anxiety-related disorders, are also included among the adult impairment listings.
Childhood Impairment Listings
The childhood listings are broken down into 15 categories, the majority of which overlap with those found in the adult listings. It includes respiratory system impairments, such as asthma, as well as spine disorders, major fractures and other musculoskeletal system impairments.
Is Your Disability Listed?
Injuries and illnesses, both mental and physical, do not come in nice packages. When doctors fill out their reports, they do not use the same language that is used by the Social Security Administration. These are two common reasons for Social Security Disability denials. The Social Security Administration is looking for something in the documentation sent by the disabled person, and when it does not find exactly what it is looking for, the claim is denied.
